Definition: 7.19: Cubic Number, Cube Number

And a cube (number) is an equal, times an equal, times an equal, or (a solid number) contained by three equal numbers.

Modern Definition

A cubic number (or a cube number or a cube) is the product \(a^3\) of a positive integer \(a\) three times with itself, formally

\[c=a^2\cdot a=a^3.\]

Notes

From the geometrical point of view, a cubic number is the volume of a cube.
