Proposition: Principal Ideals being Prime Ideals
Let $(R, + ,\cdot)$ be an integral domain, $a\in R$ with $a\neq 0.$ A principal ideal $(a)\lhd R$ is a prime ideal if and only if $a$ is prime in $R.$
