Proposition: Derivative of General Powers of Positive Numbers

The derivative of the general power function of positive numbers $f(x)=x^a,$ $x > 0,$ is given for all $a\in\mathbb R$ by $$\frac{dx^a}{dx}=ax^{a-1}.$$
