Proposition: Limit of the Identity Function

Let $f:\mathbb R\to\mathbb R,$ $f(x)=x$ be a real identity function. Then for every $a\in\mathbb R,$ $\lim_{x\to a }f(x)=\lim_{x\to a }x=a.$
