Definition: Periodic Functions

A real-valued function \(f:\mathbb R\to \mathbb R\) is called periodic, if there is a real number $a\in\mathbb R,$ such that $f(x+a)=f(x)$ for all $x\in\mathbb R.$ The number $a$ is called the period of the function.
